Philosophy It's been quite a long time since people started experimenting with recording sounds. Being able to capture a music performance and re-experience it in the future is something we now take for granted. To some extent a recording is like a painting, it’s there for years to come, for us to experience again and again even in time and space that are different from the ones in which the performance occurred. We believe that the most important factor to a good recording is the musician's performance. Also, the musical performance should be captured as faithfully and accurately as possible. The recording techniques and equipment should be choosen so that they offer a clear reproduction of the performance. A recording is a witness to the past and a lot of care should be taken into avoiding a distorted (no pun intended) listening experience as much as possible. Any obstacle that keeps the musicians from sounding at their best should be removed. That's why it is so important to let them perform where they feel at home and that's where we go and capture their art. |
